    Description

    MUST:

    • 2+ years MIN of professional experience as an accountant
    • Has worked for either: a bank or a financial company (debits and credits are backwards at a bank)
    • Must be very strong with banking reconciliations
    • Very strong with excel- extract and validate data
    • Familiarity with fixed assets, prepays, reconciliation, accounts payable
    • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required

    PLUS:

    • CPA, CFA, Masters
    • Has experience closing the books
    • Knowledge of call reports (has filed one or approved one)
    • Knowledge of What is Alcos/ALCO in banking (Asset-liability committees)

    DAY TO DAY:

    • Our banking client based out of St. Augustine is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This individual will report to the CFO of the bank and work on a small but mighty team to accomplish accounting tasks. This role will handle everything from: Closing the books monthly, financial analysis, putting in proper controls and procedures , will help to prepare and file call reports, work with balance sheets and income statements, and will work to produce board reports on a monthly basis. This group gets involved in financial strategy and planning, financial reporting and analysis, risk management and compliance, and treasury and cash management for a fast paced and fast growing bank in FL. We are seeking someone motivated, who wants to grow their accounting career, who also has a good foundation of accounting principles and working with Excel daily.
