JOB SUMMARY:


The Director of Community Relations represents the RBOC in the community by developing and fostering key relationships in the City of Pasadena and beyond.

This position provides a key point of contact for the community.

The Director of Community Relations will be tasked with developing strategies companywide to promote and enhance the RBOC's presence and position within the community.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop strategies for building and maintaining programs and activities that will have a positive impact on the community.
  • Build, develop and maintain relationships with key individuals and stakeholders in the community as well as across other organizations.
  • Ensure alignment of RBOC strategic initiatives across the organization in all communications with community.
  • Serve as ambassador on behalf of the RBOC to the Pasadena community and institutions.
  • Develop and foster positive relationships with key community members and stakeholders, businesses, organizations, and residents.
  • Develop and foster necessary relationships within the RBOC and its various representatives (Learfield, Legends, Legacy, RBI, Brookside, etc.)
  • Develop and oversee community outreach programs and special events promoting the Stadium and various programs (Legacy, Brookside, Rose Bowl Institute).
  • Develop, draft, and disseminate communications and promotional materials on behalf of the RBOC.
  • Represent the RBOC in attendance at community and other relevant events.
  • Point person for inquiries from community members and organizations/businesses and responsible for formulating and developing a response on behalf of the organization.
  • Work with Marketing Manager and Director of Communications to enhance RBOC community relations profile across various social media platforms.

  • Followthrough with requests to ensure project/contract completion.
  • Assign staff to meet program needs.
  • Work occasional weekend days, long hours, and overtime.

Education and experience:


  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in public relations, community relations, government, civic duty, or related field. Experience in advertising, public affairs, fundraising, public speaking a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, communications / public relations, writing, or related field required; Masters preferred.

Licenses and Certifications:


  • Class C driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

Very frequent - 20+ hours per week:
Work inside, speaking on the telephone, keyboarding, use of sight, hearing, speaking, eye-hand coordination, reading, writing.


Frequent - 8 to 20 hours per week:
Occasional weekend work schedule, extended hours and/or overtime. Work outside, contact with the general public.


Occasional - up to 8 hours per week:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, pushing/pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, reaching, exposure to noise, temperature variation.

Pay Range:
$79, ,963
