    Summary

    The City of University Park is currently accepting applications for Aquatic Positions. All positions require the ability to work flexible schedules up to 40 hours per week and the availability to work Sunday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. include holidays and special events. Must pass criminal background check and drug test.

    Duties
    • Responsible for the supervision of Guest Service employees within Concessions
    • Responsible for daily operations of concession stand, including opening and closing procedures, food preparation and serving, daily inventory, communicating inventory re-orders to Aquatics Coordinator.
    • Responsible for all food preparation
    • Oversees cashier and food prep servers
    • Backup cashier on Purchase Order System.
    Qualifications

    If hired by the Parks & Recreation Department as a seasonal employee, I understand that I must adhere to and will be required to participate in the following:
    • Attend mandatory drug testing
    • Attend mandatory orientation
    • Attend all paid pre-season training sessions
    • Attend all mandatory paid weekly in-service trainings
    • Be available for a minimum of 70 work days over the course of the season.
    • Be at work on time for every scheduled shift
    • Report to work and remain free from being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
    • Wear staff uniform only while on duty
    • Work weekdays, weekends and holidays
    • Be willing to substitute for others
    • Be willing to work together for the better of the team
    • Report to the Aquatics Coordinator (or Pool Manager on duty if the Aquatics Coordinator is not on site)
    • Maintain a clean work environment in and around the facility.
    Knowledge & Skills
    Must be at least 18 years of age and have ServSafe Food Manager, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid and AED use Certifications. If the employee does not have certifications, training will be provided for them. The Food Services Manager will need to have concession stand experience. A professional attitude is needed. The applicant should possess leadership abilities, interpersonal and team work skills, analytical skills, initiative and good communication skills.
    Supplemental Information

    Working Conditions
    Work is performed indoors and outdoors and involves direct contact with the general public. The work schedule of a Food Service Manager will include opening and closing shifts during weekdays and weekends. Holiday work is required. Work may involve being around harmful chemicals.

    Job Type- Seasonal

    In accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, this position is not eligible for overtime for hours work over 40 in a designated work week.
