***What you will do***
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated ***Assistant Buyer*** to join our growing dynamic team The ideal candidate will be driven, innovative, compassionate, believe in the goodness of people and cannabis, and enjoys the one team, one dream motto The Assistant Buyer will be responsible for assisting the lead buyer/supply chain manager on all procurement-related tasks such as purchasing of all inventory, supplies and capital goods for the Vireo including negotiating price, delivery, and credit terms. The ideal candidate will evaluate vendors and determine most cost-effective inventory and reorder levels. This role processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders, and delivery confirmations from suppliers. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
***Highlighted Responsibilities***
Support and execute on efficient purchasing of inventory, supplies and capital equipment for the company. Receive purchase requisitions, verify for accuracy and authorization(s). Source new vendors when necessary.
Prepare and issue purchase orders; determine and negotiate prices, delivery and credit terms; buy according to established company policies and procedures; maintain accurate purchasing records
Assist and support new user setup internally in the procurement system
Assist in review of PPE inventory levels and ensure adequate supply
Coordinate with Accounts Payable all invoicing of orders and the execution of capital expenditures once approved for purchase.
Track all shipments and meet Need by Dates of materials; timely placement of POs and coordination of delivery to include the management of orders by established lead times to ensure no stock outs of production materials. Proactively communicate delivery dates as well as any delays in materials
Establish and maintain relationships with major carriers, to include UPS, FedEx, and freight forwarders as appropriate
Assist in review of annual improvements on inbound freight costs, minimizing unplanned expedited freight
Evaluate, assess, and select vendors based on capabilities, performance, and consistent quality assurance. Maintain rapport and good working relationships with vendors; keep accurate vendor records.
Evaluate inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies in relationship to company's cost of capital. Support Lead Buyer on preparing monthly reports and reviews forecast of purchasing commitments with Finance leadership.
Expedite purchase orders as necessary and ensure delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted manufacturing flow.
Perform other purchasing or inventory control duties as necessary or as requested.
***Qualifications***
Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years relevant experience, is required; degree in business or related field strongly preferred
Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) required
Strong interpersonal skills required for effective communication with vendors, management, and coworkers.
Experience using ERP-based purchasing and inventory management and establishing proper inventory management parameters
Working knowledge of accounting and purchasing required to include interpretation and analysis of financial reports and legal documents
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) with advanced spreadsheet application experience is required
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Spanish language proficiency in written and oral form is preferred.
