JOB SUMMARY:

This position is for a Central Sterile Processing (CSP) supervisor whose responsibility is over all aspects of CSP, and to perform surgical technician duties for both elective and emergency procedures in a variety of specialty areas.

Participates in activities that ensure the safe and efficient provision of surgical services to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

Refers unusual clinical problems to the operating room registered nurse. The position reports to the Director of Surgical Services.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum level of Education:

Education level equivalent to completion of a central sterile technician and/or surgical scrub technology program, or documented and/or demonstrated on the job training required.

Formal Training:
Clinical competency in both central sterile processing and surgical scrub technology required.


Licensure, Certifications & Registration:
Certification is Central Sterile Processing is preferred. Surgical scrub technology certification preferred. BLS certification required within 120 days of employment.
