    The Work You Will Do:
    This position is located within the Division of Regulation, Pensacola Regional Office. This position is responsible for managing day to day operations of the Pensacola Field Office and it's staff.


    • Responsible for implementation of all operational policies and directives disseminated from the Director and/or Field Office Manager -
      SES.
    • Supervises employees by assigning work, reviewing progress and assessing performance. Performs all required administrative tasks related to the supervision of employees, including approval of attendance and leave, writing and updating position descriptions, etc., recruitment and selection activities and other supervisory related duties.
    • Interview complainants, subjects, and other appropriate witnesses. Collects and analyzes corroborative complainants, perform various record searches, review legal documents, review financial data, prepare and serve subpoenas, notices to cease and desist, notices of non-compliance, citations, administrative complaints, and other administrative process required. Mediates complaints when appropriate pursuant to Division of Regulation's policy and procedures.
    • Writes comprehensive reports including chronological presentation of facts and testimony in the prescribed report format used by the Division of Regulation. Testifies truthfully in depositions, criminal, civil, and administrative hearing when called upon.
    • Responsible for meeting and monitoring the Division's investigation Key Performance Indicator goals for the region.
    • Performs preliminary investigations in a timely manner to determine the legal sufficiency needed to pursue a full and formal investigation pursuant to division policies. Performs supplemental investigations in a timely manner as directed by the Office of General Counsel or other supervisory personnel within the chain of command pursuant to Division policies.
    • Responds to reported unlicensed activity of regulated professions pursuant to Division policies.
    • Coordinates and/or assists in joint investigations, enforcement sweeps, and task forces with varying professions regulation by the Department. Works with other agencies on matters relating to varying profession regulated by the Department.
    • Conducts covert sting operations, sweeps, or other proactive enforcement efforts in conjunctions with various regulatory and law enforcement agencies to combat the unlicensed practice of regulated professions.
    • Demonstrates good public relations with local authorities and profession organizations, through personal contact and public speaking. Provides information to consumers regarding licensure and possible violations of laws and rules by licensees regulated by the Department. Provides referral information and attends professional association meetings as required.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with other federal, state, county, and city governmental entities. Interact and coordinate with these entities to respond to natural or man-made disasters or emergencies. Uses these relationships to aid in the enforcement of statutes and rules governing various regulated practices.
    • Performs other investigative or inspection duties (including MMA, Kickboxing, and Boxing) as required to complete the Department's mission.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of and ability to understand and apply applicable Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written forms.
    • Ability to speak in public forums.
    • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions.
    • Possess analytical skills necessary to identify violations of statutes and rules and identify elements of the alleged violations.
    • Must be proficient in the use of computers and other devices.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university in a regulatory-related field; or
    • Associates' degree (in any field) & 2 years regulatory-related experience; or
    • Four (4) or more years' of regulatory-related experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education; and
    • Investigative experience; and
    • Experience formatting, editing, and creating comprehensive investigative reports using Microsoft Word; and
    • A valid Drivers License is required.
    • Ability to work flexible hours with regional travel and occasional overnight travel.
