Duties:


  • Perform medical records, administrative and clerical duties in support of the medical facility.
  • Receive and direct telephone calls, messages, and patients/visitors.
  • Use multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc.
  • Use wordprocessing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters.
  • Use existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and uses graphic software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.
  • Establish and maintain office records and information files of various types that may be needed or will assist in the efficient operation of the facility.

Requirements:


Conditions of Employment:


  • Qualified typist is required. The incumbent must have the ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.
  • Position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross.
  • Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.

General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, receiving calls and visitors, scheduling appointments, filing records, and providing instructions to patients in a medical treatment facility or clinical setting.

OR


Education:

Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR


Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.


Proficiency Required:
This position requires a qualified typist.

A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
