About the role

The Data Center Operations Lead - AI Infrastructure Specialist will oversee the operational excellence of our data centers, with a keen focus on supporting advanced AI computing services.

This role demands a deep understanding of AI infrastructure, network fabrics, and the unique challenges of sourcing and integrating cutting-edge technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will not only lead our current data center operations but also play a critical role in our expansion into new facilities, ensuring that our infrastructure scales seamlessly alongside our ambitious growth plans.

What you'll do

Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and expansion of data center infrastructure, specifically tailored to support AI computing workloads.

Possess a deep understanding of AI infrastructure, including GPU technologies, high-performance computing fabrics, and network architectures, to optimize data center design and operation for AI workloads.

Utilize a vast network within the industry to source critical components and solutions on short notice, navigating supply chain challenges with innovative procurement strategies.

Lead the strategic planning and execution of new data center expansions, ensuring each new facility meets the specific needs of advanced AI computing services.

Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to understand upcoming needs and ensure the data center infrastructure can support future growth and technology advancements.

Develop and implement best practices and standards for data center resilience, efficiency, and scalability, with a focus on supporting AI applications.

Mentor and develop a team of data center professionals, instilling a culture of continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.
Travel Requirement
:

This role requires frequent travel, estimated at 50% of the time, to new and existing data center locations worldwide to manage expansions, oversee operations, and ensure the integration of AI-specific infrastructure.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, with a preference for candidates holding advanced certifications in data center management, network fabrics, or AI infrastructure.

At least 7 years of experience in data center operations, with a proven track record in managing facilities that support high-performance computing or AI workloads.

Deep technical knowledge of AI infrastructure, computing fabrics, and network architectures.
Strong industry connections to source components and solutions under tight deadlines.

Demonstrated experience in leading data center expansion projects, with the ability to manage projects from conception through to operational handover.

Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage both technical and operational aspects of data center management.

Willingness and ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, as required to meet the demands of the role.
