Position Overview: As an Exception Desk Analyst at Ameritrust Mortgage Corp., you'll play a crucial role in providing real-time guidance and solutions to both internal and external stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to address guideline inquiries promptly and assist in identifying loans that may qualify for exceptions. This position requires a deep understanding of underwriting guidelines across various product categories, including Non-QM, prime credit jumbo, agency, and government loans.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide timely and accurate answers to guideline questions raised by internal and external parties, utilizing investor guidelines and engaging with counterparties as needed.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to assist in loan structuring based on provided parameters and inquiries.
· Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for questions and answers to ensure responsiveness and identify areas requiring guideline clarification.
· Identify loan scenarios that deviate from standard guidelines but warrant consideration, facilitating the exception process as necessary.
· Develop and maintain a database of scenario questions for reference, both internally and externally.
· Create and distribute weekly guideline tips and engaging scenario questions, with a primary focus on non-QM guidelines and inquiries.
· Draft and implement policies and procedures to guide team members in effectively managing guideline inquiries and exceptions.
· Document loan-level specific scenario questions and corresponding correspondence in loan files when feasible.
· Support the training department in developing materials related to guidelines and product knowledge.
· Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as directed by management.
· Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of additional personnel to support production growth.
