    Description

    Electrical Engineer Position at HBK Engineering Company

    Job Description: Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

    • Work on challenging assignments involving investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving various engineering and construction-related issues.
    • Act as a team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for all utility engineering work aspects.
    • Prepare, Review, or approve proposals, contracts or cost estimates. Negotiate agreement revisions with sub-consultants and clients.
    • Perform/oversee designs for underground and overhead power installations.
    • Lead efforts to ensure satisfactory project completion within budget and on time.
    • Interface with vendors to prepare equipment purchase specifications for client recommendations.
    • Research available equipment and pre-engineered systems for project designs execution.
    • Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly and meeting client requirements.
    • Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and drawing preparation.
    • Travel may be required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BSEE from an institution accredited by ABET.
    • Professional Electrical Engineering License in PA, IL, IA with reciprocity ability in other states as needed.
    • 5-10 years of experience in power systems.
    • Demonstrated 3+ years' experience in leading an engineering design team through project designs.
    • Knowledge of engineering standards.
    • Experience leading diverse, interdisciplinary teams.
    • Strong technology skills including Office365 suite understanding.
    • Understanding of remote communication software.
    • Ability to quickly adapt and work on in-process projects.
    • Experience in an engineering-focused project team.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Adaptability to change and persistence in project completion.
    • US driver's license and work authorization.

    Essential Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
    • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Power Distribution is a plus.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Construction experience is a plus.
    • Exposure to Passport and CEGIS/TED is a plus.
