Mobile - Heavy Duty Diesel Service Technician - This is a specialist level, where Heavy Duty Diesel Technicians are assigned responsibilities for performing highly skilled mechanical work in the repair and maintenance of Prevost buses/coaches at our customer's facility and roadside service. Responsibilities may include trouble-shooting repair needs which are difficult to identify, independently completing major repair projects.

Mobile - Heavy Duty Diesel Service Technician Core Responsibilities

  • Work independently as a mobile Technician utilizing a Company Vehicle or Service Truck/Van, with mínimal supervision.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical. HVAC, suspension, pneumatic, brake, and other systems
  • Respect and care for the customer and their equipment
  • Develop personal professional and technical skills on an ongoing basis
  • Foster teamwork and communications
  • Comply with the quality and safety standards of the organization
  • Diagnose and repair customer equipment.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and timely in accordance with company requirements
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Mobile Heavy Duty Diesel Service Technician Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Pass required aptitude test
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
  • Go to type person in areas of expertise
  • Ability to look up parts efficiently and independently
  • Assist customers over the phone with technical issues and general questions
  • Be proficient in electronic media and laptop use

Mobile Heavy Duty Diesel Service Technician Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required
  • Completion of 2 years of Technical School (Diesel) program or equivalent mechanical experience
  • 4 years of qualified mechanical experience substituting one year of related technical school training for a year of experience

Mobile Heavy Duty Diesel Service Technician Minimum Requirements

  • Possess comprehensive set of tools required
  • Ability to read and write
  • Lifting heavy objects up to 49 pounds
  • Standing long periods of time
  • Exposure to extreme weather variances
  • Undergo a Motor Vehicle Records check

For this position, the hourly rate is set at $ $40.00, and where applicable, bonus eligible.

The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
