Yun Hai Taiwanese Pantry is Hiring a Weekend Store Associate in Brooklyn
We are seeking a Weekend Store Associate to help with our busiest days of the week. This is a part-time,
weekend-only role, with one shift each on Saturday and Sunday, starting in July. We are looking for someone who can commit to working with us for at least 6-months. Please note that we are not accepting weekday-only or summer-only applicants at the moment.
Responsibilities include:
Customer service
- Learn and share indepth stories and product knowledge about our Taiwanese food offerings
- Demonstrate a keen awareness of customer needs, offering tailored product suggestions
- Initiate and conduct product sampling sessions to help customers experience our products firsthand
- Help customers check out using a POS system in a quick and friendly manner
- Ensure product shelves are wellstocked and tidy
- Move and organize products between the storefront and storage area
- Conduct regular inventory counts
- Receive and inspect product deliveries
- Store opening & closing duties, such as daily cleaning and locking up
- Sweep and clean store shelves, windows, floors, counters, and other surfaces
- Be the point of contact for repairs and maintenance needs
- Helping out with occasional store events
- Other adhoc responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- Available to work on Saturday and Sunday for at least 6+ months
- Able to lift 20+ lb boxes (a handtruck is provided)
- Passion and interest in Taiwanese cooking
- An eye for cleanliness and organization
- Friendly and outgoing personality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customerfacing experience in retail, food service, or customer service
- Familiarity and comfort with numbers, for managing inventory, reordering from vendors, resolving customer payment issues
- Familiarity with Mandarin
