This position reports to the Turbomachinery Operations Technical Manager. Key interfaces include TMO CAM managers, Value Stream managers, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Central Quality. Reporting to the incumbent is the TMO Quality engineering staff and the TMO Manufacturing integration team.

It would not be uncommon for this position to communicate directly with internal and external customers, auditors, and president's staff.

This position is responsible for driving quality and technology related improvements, procedure, and vision throughout TMO.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and provide a vision and strategy for Quality improvement activities including but not limited to MRB, inspection, calibrations, RCCA, and COPQ
  • Oversee the Corporate manufacturing integration and quality systems (CAD CAM, Tooling data, programming, CMMs)
  • TMO Built in Quality (BIQ) ownership: Provide leadership and vision to the BIQ program, including innovative problem solving, to achieve increasingly better product quality
  • Internal PPAP ownership:

Subject matter expertise and improvement of the Solar internal PPAP process- Lead Solar wide projects to solve critical quality issues- Support and manage TMO adherence to ISO 9001 practices.- Support team activities and compliance to outside industry and international standards as pertains to Solar and customer requirements.- Provide input into corporate quality strategy and vision as well as establish unit quality goals.- Provide leadership to Manufacturing Integration, Quality Support, and Inspection Staff.- Research new manufacturing technology.

Lead projects to incorporate new technology.- Provide direction and training to develop flexible, multi-skilled team members that can make quality based decisions.

  • TMO Built in Quality (BIQ)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience 3+ years of previous formal Supervisor experience
  • Proficiency in computer knowledge (MS Office products) 5+ years of experience working with and demonstrated knowledge of Solar's products and processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Leadership experience in Manufacturing Operations as well as Manufacturing Technology

Summary Pay Range:
$135, $203,314.00
