    Job DescriptionThe Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for Seasonal Summer Camp Jr. Counselor in the Parks & Recreation Department located at Hendrix Park.

    This position is to be responsible for leading children in the Camp programs and reports to the Camp Site Supervisor. Camp Jr. Counselors are role models for camp participants. The ideal candidate exemplifies integrity, commitment, respect, responsibility and cooperation.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

    Must demonstrate ability to perform all job duties and be physically active.

    Assists with observing participants and ensures their safety.

    Applies disciplinary actions in accordance with program guidelines.

    Organizes and distributes equipment and material needed for the operation of the program.

    Notes and completes incident, accident, and participant discipline reports.

    Monitors program areas and maintains cleanliness and order in the facility.

    Assists with answering parent questions and concerns.

    Cleans and maintains the appearance of the area.

    Attends mandatory training for licenses and certificates.

    Observes all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to his/her work activities and performs all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with county policy.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

    Performs other related duties as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be at least 16 years of age and have reliable transportation. At least six (6) months of experience in a child related field is preferred. Demonstrates a passion for working with kids and having fun. Must be enthusiastic and show your spirit Fantastic communicator with the ability to interact in a clear, motivating and fun manner with children.
