    Youth Program Manager Job Summary:

    The Youth Program Manager is responsible for designing and overseeing our youth programing by scheduling, planning, and executing year-round youth events and activities in accordance with the mission and the strategic plan of the club while managing a team of Youth Activity Counselors.

    Youth Program Manager Responsibilities:

    • Greets members and guests with a pleasant attitude and is welcoming to team and membership.
    • Develops an effective plan of action for running programs from inception to completion.
    • Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the club.
    • Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
    • Coordinates and executes weekly events such as Kids Night Out, day camps, and seasonal camps.
    • Oversees childcare facility in Wellness Center.
    • Organizes and keeps inventory of all youth department storage locations.
    • Provides consistent professional communication between staff and guardians.
    • Fills in for shifts within the youth division.
    • Participates in hiring youth counselors and ensures all team members are onboarded appropriately.
    • Ensures all team members receive appropriate training in accordance with the clubs W.E.L.L. standards.
    • Drafts supply orders for childcare and youth events.
    • Develops, coaches, and retains high performance team members.
    • Maintains up to date knowledge of childcare and youth event guidelines according to Georgia State law.
    • Informs membership of and promotes all events sponsored by the Wellness Center.
    • Upholds the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by state law and W.E.L.L. policies.
    • Communicates to management any occurrences involving staff or guests in the youth department that require attention in a prompt manner.
    • Responds to members and or guests' questions and concerns professionally, promptly, and courteously.
    • Maintains a positive attitude and contributes toward a quality work environment.
    • Attends, participates in, and supports training and staff meetings.
    • Complies with departmental uniform and grooming standards.
    • Implements uniform and grooming standards among Youth Counselors.
    • Works effectively as a team with all departmental team members.
    • Works variety of shifts, as needed to include nights, weekends and/or holidays.
    • Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures.
    • Implements departmental policies and procedures among Youth Counselors.
    • Must be willing to comply to other job duties requested by management when needed within or outside of Youth Department.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Youth Program Manager Experience & Qualifications:

    • Must have a thorough knowledge and applicability of youth and senior communications.
    • Well-developed team skills that directly correlate with youth-based activities.
    • 2 years of experience working directly with youth-based programs.
    • 2 years of experience leading large groups of 20 or more children.
    • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or able to obtain within first 30 days of employment.

    Youth Program Manager Skills/Abilities:

    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
    • Ability to develop well thought out programs and events.
    • Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
    • Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
    • Must have confidence, and presence to effectively handle professional relationships with guardians.
    • Must be highly organized.
    • Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members.
    • Working conditions include indoor and outdoor activities and weather conditions(heat and cold)
    • The hours worked may be extensive due to coverage needs; early mornings or late evening shifts may need to be covered by the Program Manager if appropriate coverage is not available.

    Youth Program Manager Physical Demands:

    • Maintains high stamina in hourly increments during group activities.
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
    • Bending and stooping 75% of workday
    • Stands and walks for 95% of workday.
    • Requires high energy for 95% of workday.
