The former Tegel airport is making way for the growing city of Berlin. On approximately 500 hectares, a new piece of city is being created in Berlin TXL: with jobs in the field of green future technologies, over 5,000 new apartments, and plenty of green space, Berlin TXL is one of the largest urban development and economic projects in Europe. What is planned? In the "The Urban Tech Republic" innovation park, urban technologies will be researched, designed, produced, and exported to smart cities around the world. And right in the neighborhood, they will be put to use: the "Schumacher Quarter" will be home to new apartments for over people in a vibrant, sustainable, urban neighborhood.
