The Program Coordinator II promotes and collaborates with Texas schools for The
"I Generate Rural Opportunities for Work" (iGROW) Project.

It is a four-year pre-employment and leadership-training program in partnership (funded by) with TWC's Vocational Rehabilitation Program, for up to 20 students with disabilities who are currently enrolled in middle school and high school per year per cohort.

The purpose of the program is to provide a training environment to support students with disabilities to gain the necessary skills and experiences in work readiness in order to successfully transition into postsecondary education and/or competitive integrated employment.

Salary:
Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire's experience.


Other Requirements and Factors:
Position will require work in an alternate work location in West Texas (specifically Eula) - not on campus.

This positions requires travel (to and from schools, businesses, community meetings/events, etc.), travel to TAMU campus, conferences, and other statewide meetings per the Program Director's directive, and working some nights/weekends.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in such fields as Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of experience in coordinating projects and/or programs related to adolescents/youth with disabilities and teaching or providing transition services to transitionaged students with or without disabilities.

Required Licenses and Certifications:


  • Teaching Certificate or Equivalent in Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, Transition or closely related fields.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in special education or related field.
  • Some experiences in offering workbased learning or other learning opportunities to students with or without disabilities.
  • Six or more years of experience in coordinating projects and/or programs related to adolescents/youth with disabilities and teaching or providing transition services to transitionaged students with or without disabilities.
  • Ability to work with school districts and Texas Workforce Commission's vocational rehabilitation counselors to develop school

  • ETS training programs.
  • Ability to coordinate between schools, families, workforce, and community leaders to accomplish program goals.

Essential Duties/Tasks

Program Coordination: Oversees and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the TAMU iGROW Project in their respective region and the project as a whole. Assists in establishing short
- and long-term goals and strategic planning for the project. Assists PI's and fiscal personnel with daily fiscal and purchasing activities and proposes expenses. Assists in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for the project. Provides training and technical assistance to schools in their implementation of the project activities. Collaborates with stakeholders to offer regional learning opportunities for schools, vocational rehabilitation, employers, parents, students, and other partners and stakeholders to learn from each other. Serves as the point of contact for schools on Project activities. Leads project reporting efforts and assists in establishing objectives, policies and procedures related to the project. Work with partners and stakeholders to increase the community, school, and student's capacity to learn the skills to obtain competitive integrated employment in the communities where they live, learn, work, and play. Plan, create, and adhere to project timelines. Ensure that all program activities/deliverables are implemented according to the contract. Provides status updates of program and project activities weekly. Collaborate with others to coordinate and plan the Summer Institute.
