    Description

    Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Structural Engineer , for a 3-6 month contract assignment with Bechtel National supporting the Kennedy Space Center. This position offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime.

    • U.S. Citizenship is required.
    • Standard per diem is not offered but can be broken out of the base rate. Bechtel is targeting $85.00/hour for this role .

    Project Overview:
    Located at Kennedy Space Center, the Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) Project is the design and construction of a launch platform for NASA to provide an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America's need for deep space missions. The ML-2 project works a 40-hour, 5 day/8 hour schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is Monday – Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Overtime may be required as directed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Originate and check complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
    • Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
    • Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
    • Manage specifically assigned project activities.
    • Assist in constructability reviews.
    • Support construction by dispositioning field change requests and nonconformance reports.
    • Act as a mentor or coach for subordinate engineers and designers.
    • Schedule and coordinate off-project review requirements for engineering deliverables.
    • Lead and/or participate in technical discussions with client, suppliers, construction, etc.
