Summer Camp Instructor
Summer Camp Instructors will oversee one group of 10-15 participants for one-week sessions. Participants range in grade from Pre-K through eighth grade. The Summer Camp Instructor will be assigned to a particular grade band each week.

The Instructor is responsible for creating and delivering daily programming that includes tours of the Zoo, arts and crafts, recreation, and animal/natural science lessons aligning the weekly theme.

Position requires prep hours prior to sessions; for each week of session, there is a full day of prep. Summer Camp Instructors report to the OST Coordinator.

Zoofari Summer Camp runs from July 1st - August 23rd. Must also attend orientation. Must be able to commit to at least 2 weeks.

Full-time, 35 hour a week position, seasonal.


Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Experience teaching/educating in a formal or informal setting
• Understanding of inquirybased learning theory and practice
• Knowledge of biology, ecology, and/or zoology preferred
• Must be comfortable working with diverse populations of children, including those with disabilities/neurodiverse identities; marginalized gender and sexual identities; and those from underserved cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Animal handling experience not required but a plus

Additional Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a background check
• Covid19 Vaccination.

Program Compensation:
$595 per week
