OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Computer and Information Systems (CIS) Manager will plan, coordinate, and direct computer-related activities by determining the technology needs of the company and making hardware
- and software-related decisions to meet those needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates and monitors the company MSP
- Prioritizes and assigns team members (MSP team members, internal company members) to CIS projects
- In charge of assessing MSP performance
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the creation and implementation of a company Computer Information Systems Standard Operating Procedures
- Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other IT/CIS, data metrics and needs
- Oversees security of systems, networks and enterprise information
- Leads development and implementation process for the organization's IT systems and departments
- Developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective services and inquiry resolution.
- Facilitates IT security audits or investigations with MSP
- Collaborates with users, vendors, technicians, and managers to understand and assess computing and system needs and requirements.
- Communicates the goals, policies, and procedures of the company to the CIS team; develops plans to implement these needs.
- Evaluates current technology use and needs of the company and recommends software and hardware improvements.
- Responsible for the daily and longterm management and tracking of all IT assets.
- Audits and tracks existing duplicate programs and minimizes unnecessary usage.
- Oversees backup, security, and user help systems.
- Remains current on advances in technology.
- Provides technical support to users.
- Prepares and delivers operational or project progress reports.
- Implements and oversees operational budget and expenditures with leadership.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Is an effective decision maker.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Thorough understanding of CIS principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.
- Possesses a sense of urgency in pursuing completion of job responsibilities.
- Resolves conflict in a professional manner.
- Provides proper guidance and leadership for.

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for the successful performance of these duties.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Programming, or related field preferred.

Related experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position may require frequent field visits, 80% field and 20% office or as necessary.
