Description:


  • This position is in direct support of the NAVSEA 04X Shipyard Field Representative (SFR).
  • This position will interact at all levels with shipyard personnel and management but cannot represent the government.
  • Any interaction that occurs which could be considered a representation of the government must be coordinated though the SFR.

Duties include:


  • Identify key issues and concerns that will help in developing personnel to accelerate the proficiency and efficiency of the varied workforce disciplines such as emergency management, safety, quality assurance, engineering, project and material management and unique production trade disciplines. 2. Providing assessments, data analysis for trending purposes, and recommendations for discreet work groups within the naval shipyards to the SFR.
  • Provide organizational and operational effectiveness recommendations for work teams such as: providing clearly defined goals, clear and open communication, workforce development with defined roles and responsibilities in the work team, encouraging and overcoming differences of opinions, mutual accountability, and building team trust. Any recommendations need to be presented to the shipyard by the SFR.
  • Participate in GEMBA walks/events.
  • Travel to other NAVSEA facilities to participate/contribute as a NAVSEA team member conducting Shipyard Program Reviews.

Skills and Experiences:

a. Possess excellent, executive level technical writing skills. i.e., ability to prepare signature ready documentation.

b. Knowledge and experience with ship, submarine, or aircraft maintenance at a senior level.

c.

Minimum of 15 years' experience with Naval Shipyard Business/Management systems, project management and shipyard programs such as emergency management, safety, quality assurance, engineering and project and material management.

d. Knowledge of production trade disciplines.

e. Exceptional team building and team leadership abilities.

f. Physical mobility to climb ladders, stairs and enter shipboard spaces of Naval Vessels.

g. Must be familiar with PPE standards.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required in a STEM or Business Field (Financial Management, Accounting, Program/Project Management) or 15+ years of workforce management experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • A secret security clearance.
