- Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Engineer Level I:
- Design Fixtruing and automated equipment using SolidWorks
- Prepare Calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawings
- Finalize designs and coordinate with machine shops
- Assist with equipment assembly, startup, and training
- Conducts plant visits to assist with project planning and process improvement
- Responsible for capital expenditure program (budgeting, project planning and implementation).
- Develops cost reduction, quality and safety enhancement projects/opportunities.
- Performs payback analysis, obtains quotes and oversees project installation.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency thru analysis and workflow planning
- Develops manufacturing processes.
- Confers with equipment vendors on product design and capabilities.
- Develops corporate engineering strategies.
- Researches new equipment and processes for future implementation.
- Leads one to two Manufacturing Engineers (Level I-II).
- All other duties as assigned
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience or the equivalent combination of experience and/or education is required for this position
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
- Asset justification
- Industrial engineering skills such as work measurement, labor reporting, and plant layout
- Understanding of building and maintenance contracts including liability issues
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processes
- Computer skills including MS Office and SolidWorks
- Analytical analysis and problem solving skills
- Understanding of compliance regulations and codes.
- Travel: Occasional
- Physical demands: Spend 85% of time in office environment and 15% of time in manufacturing environment.
- Work environment:
- May be exposed to possible shop hazards including high noise, heavy machinery and shop traffic
