Summary


We're hiring a full-time Compliance Analyst to advise and aid program staff by assessing and mitigating risks from regulatory non-compliance and creating a regular program of risk review.

The position will also assist with and coordinate responses to regulatory audits, perform accounting transactions and functions for grants, and identify and assess audit and compliance risks relative to grants and programs administered by staff to create and/or modify compliance processes.


The Compliance Analyst serves as the primary grant writer, engages in compliance reporting, manages funder relationships, and supports special project initiatives.

This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management skills, with an emphasis on grant compliance and outcome measurement.


Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a nonprofit environment in grants/project management, fundraising, or related field
  • Demonstrated analytical and persuasive writing skills experience as well as superior editing skills, including the ability to convey complex information in a clear manner to a diverse audience
  • Strong administrative skills and selfmotivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under mínimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, with very strong word processing, accounting spreadsheet, database, and internet research skills
  • Detailoriented, with strong organizational ability
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as a team player
  • Selfstarter with the initiative to overcome obstacles and recommend solutions to problems
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Experience working in a nonprofit institution of comparable complexity and scale; experience working as part of a team to manage multiple projects with competing timelines successfully
  • Knowledge of priorities, trends, and requirements in the government funding arena, especially within San Bernardino and Riverside County and California

Examples of Duties

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to effect programmatic compliance with all public and private funding contracts, including:
  • Working with the Office Manager, Executive Director, or designee on compliance and training
  • Working with the Finance accountant, Office Manager, Executive Director, or designee, to facilitate the appropriate allocation and timely invoicing of grant funds
  • Working with the Case Management Director, Office Manager, or Coordinator to generate case statistics and other outcome data
  • Submitting required financial and performance reports
  • Monitoring the performance of contractual partners
  • Monitoring payments of contractual partners
  • Meeting monthly to discuss grant progress
  • Serve as primary liaison to representatives of granting agencies and contractual partners, including negotiating contract terms with the assistance of the lead legal manager, ensuring timely and effective communication, and coordinating monitoring visits and presentations
  • Research new funding opportunities on local, state, and federal levels to expand existing programs and create new programs for funding in the advancement of LASSB's program priorities
  • Perform other related development activities as needed
  • Prepares periodic financial reports due to funding agencies; distributes monthly Grant Funds Report of all grantfunded projects to appropriate individuals reflecting the comprehensive understanding of grant requirements and financial and program reporting
  • Tracks grant budgets vs. expenditures
  • Ensure deliverables remain on track
  • Responsible for organizing and analyzing data to prepare and draft monthly, quarterly, and semiannual grant reports and invoices
  • Coordinate and manage monitoring visits and audits to ensure grant compliance
  • Works closely with grantors and funders to ensure administrative grant compliance
  • Manage subgrantee contracts to ensure grant compliance
  • Work collaboratively with other programs to develop and streamline centralized intake policies and procedures and improve client services overall
