As the largest Center within the School of Social Work, the organization leads a portfolio of $15M in programming and evaluation that increases the capacity of child welfare and human service systems, largely through training, technical assistance, applied research and evaluation services.

Consistent with IFF's mission, the New Jersey Child Support Institute (NJCSI) was established to provide education to workers at all experience levels in the state's child support system, including professionals within New Jersey's County Welfare Agencies, Administrative Office of the Courts Probation Child Support Enforcement Units, and Family Divisions.

NJCSI develops and delivers course materials that included in-person and online training sessions, hands-on computer simulations and an array of web-based learning experiences.

In-person learning events are delivered at three training sites and community locations throughout New Jersey.
Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Training Coordinator for the Institute for Families (IFF) at the School of Social Work.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Facilitates the delivery of learning content on a wide variety of topics ranging from introductory material for newly hired child support professionals to advanced training for managers and specialized skills courses.
  • Reports on training related activities.
  • Provides feedback on curriculum and other types of learning content as it relates to supporting a highquality experience for adult learners.

    Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Training, Human Resources, Public/Business Administration, Child Development, Communications, or related discipline.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience.

Certifications/Licenses

  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in either child welfare, child support or a human services field as demonstrated by at least five years' experience working in the field, knowledge of applicable practice models, and/or fluency in the related policies, legislation, and workforce systems supporting families and children.
  • Computer proficiency and high level of comfort with presentation software and use of learning management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Training, Human Resources, Public/Business Administration, Child Development, Communications, or discipline appropriate to training being conducted.

Equipment Utilized

  • Setting up and troubleshooting equipment; use of presentation software and inputting data online.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand throughout work day to conduct classroom based training.
  • Must be able to transport training materials (including participant guides, flipcharts, markers and other training material) for class size averaging 30 participants.
  • Must be able to travel by personal vehicle to various training locations throughout New Jersey.
