    Application Engineer - NSK Corporation

    The Company


    NSK is a global manufacturer of ball and roller bearings, linear motion technology, automotive components, and steering systems with both domestic and overseas manufacturing capabilities.

    NSK also offers a full range of services including reconditioning, ball screw repair, product integration, application engineering and predictive & preventative maintenance and reliability services.

    NSK's high-precision rolling bearings are used in wind turbines and machine tools, linear components are found in production lines, while automotive components are installed in the vehicles of almost every-well known automaker.

    The Application Engineer Role

    Provides company with a source for engineering and technical authority on selection, application, use, and performance of our products. Acts in conjunction with sales and customer personnel; contacts customers to ascertain technical and service requirements. Responsible for support of the NSK Industrial business; including OEM, Aftermarket, and end-users with engineering expertise.

    work schedule, reporting to the

    Ann Arbor, MI Headquarters .

    Responsibilities

    Promotes customer enthusiasm for NSK products by providing timely, courteous, and complete technical solutions.
    Serves as a source of engineering and technical authority on the selection, application, use, and performance of NSK products.
    Works directly with the sales and customer personnel to ascertain and meet technical information and service requirements.
    Analyzes customer applications and investigates performance issues to recommend solutions that maximize value for the customer.
    Take part or lead Root Cause Analysis teams when problems arise.
    Consults with other application engineers, team leaders and managers in the development and review of proposed technical solutions.
    Visits customers with sales to support application reviews and provide NSK technical solutions.

    Communicates customer requirements to NSK design and plant personnel as part of new product design review, quotation, and production startup processes.

    Provides training on the features, benefits, application, and use of NSK products to customers, end users, and team members.

    Provides technical support to business and sales leaders in support of the development of strategies for growing business for assigned customers.

    Qualifications

    This job requires a minimum of a

    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

    or related field and preferably 5 years of position-related experience.

    Experience in related industrial machinery applications, such as Steel, Pulp & Paper, Mining, Wind, and other heavy industry applications is a requirement.

    Japanese or Spanish language skills are a plus.
