Join Tenmile Distillery, to work alongside exceptional distillers and energetic professionals at a growing, independent Single Malt Whisky Distillery in Wassaic, New York.
As a farm distillery we sell our award-winning whisky, gin, and vodka directly to retailers and consumers throughout NY State.
We believe in creating finely crafted spirits distilled from only the finest local ingredients in our world-class production facility, housed in a beautifully renovated dairy barn in the heart of the Hudson Valley.
- connected team member to join us as an off-premise Sales Representative in the NYC Metropolitan Region.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Learn Tenmile Distillery's craft spirits lineup to increase knowledge and sales acumen
- Identify and open new retail and restaurant accounts
- Provide training to all new accounts on brand/product(s) to include ingredients and pairings, distilling process, history, quality and current trends
- Conduct instore tastings and bartender training to educate customers, retailers and restaurateurs about our products. Participate in new product launch events including tastings / samplings.
- Maintain store shelf standards, brand displays and inventory, processing restocks and reorders as necessary
- Help maintain a positive image of the Tenmile Brands
- Collaborate with the Wholesale and Marketing team to help develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Work closely with General Manager to collaborate on goals and objectives
- Utilize spreadsheet to track all territory progress
- Participate in trade shows and other industryrelated events where support may be required.
- Work with the accountant to resolve credit issues including collecting past due balances.
- Gather market and customer information and provide feedback to General Manager on buying trends
- Attend sales meetings to discuss sales issues, opportunities to improve sales efforts, and share best practices
- Act as full business "owner" of your route/area to grow net revenue
- Represent the company in full compliance with both state and company policies and regulations at all events.
- Ensure compliance of all alcoholic beverage regulations
Qualifications
- Associates required; Bachelor's preferred
- Must be 21 years or older
- 24 years demonstrated sales experience, preferably in beer, wine, or spirits
- Previous retail, onpremise, or offpremise work experience is a plus
- Experience as a Bartender, Waitress, Bar Management, Distributor Sales Rep, etc. is a plus
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
- Must live in assigned territory with access to reliable transportation large vehicle preferred
- Must have valid driver's license, registered and insured vehicle with clean driving record/background check
- Must be willing to travel within assigned sales region
- Must be able to lift and move cases of product frequently
- Must be able to climb, kneel, and stoop to arrange and display point of sale
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be friendly, energetic and outgoing, highly organized, detail oriented and able to work independently
- Strong selling and negotiation skills
- Strong customer service skills and ability to grow and lead customer relationships
- Ability to understand purchase order process and invoicing
Compensation
Commission based with signing bonus. Fees negotiable and based on past sales experience.
