Description

The Financial Aid Specialist coordinates financial aid administration for all Elmhurst University students including awarding processes, preparation of materials for official financial aid-related correspondence, and loan/grant processes.

The position assists with the awarding of Elmhurst University endowed scholarships and assists with processes related to student employment and the Federal Work Study program.

The position is primarily in the office, with consideration given for partial or occasional remote work arrangements.

Salary Grade Essential Functions

  • Responsible for financial aid awarding processes for all students.
  • Oversees Direct Loan, Pell Grant, and State aid processes for all students.
  • Coordinates creation and printing of award offer letters and missing information letters.
  • Responsible for aid adjustments related to loans, overawards and enrollment/status changes.
  • Assists with awarding of endowed scholarships and Admission awards.
  • Performs R2T4 and other withdrawal related processes including exit counseling notifications.
  • Assists with developing policies and procedures and reconciliation in their area.
  • Works with Director on requests for audits, reporting, and other compliance areas.
  • Participates in oncampus functions/activities as needed.
  • Assists with customer service as needed.
  • Attends trainings and conferences in key areas and maintains an understanding of developments in the field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in financial aid administration
  • Familiarity with federal and state financial aid regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and technical skills
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in federal, state, institutional financial aid awarding processes
  • Ellucian Colleague experience
