This position will be responsible for our agents in Eastern New York. The majority of this position's work time will be spent in this geographic area.

YOUR PURPOSE AND FUNCTION IN OUR COMPANY:

The Territory Manager will work to develop and foster relationships within their assigned region that results in mutual profitable growth aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

By forging strong relationships within their region, they will be instrumental in driving profitable growth and retention and enhancing brand recognition and reputation.

This role is responsible for the relationships and overall performance of the agency plant assigned in their territory.


The Territory Manager will:


  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders: Foster relationships and work closely with crossfunctional teams to construct and align strategies for assigned partnerships and ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Cultivate agency relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with our independent agents and their communities. This involves regular communication, attending industry, trade, business partner and community events, and fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Drive profitable growth and retention: Collaborate with appropriate internal and external resources to develop plans to achieve mutual retention, profit, and growth goals and performance metrics for assigned distribution (agency plant).
  • Identify market opportunities: Through meetings, networking and other channels, conduct market research to identify opportunities to expand distribution, drive profitable growth and retention, and enhance brand recognition and reputation aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Manage agency performance: Continuously monitor and forecast the performance of assigned distribution (agency plant) to ensure they are meeting agreedupon objectives. This includes analyzing key performance indicators, conducting periodic reviews, and maximizing and optimizing performance.

  • Analytical and critical thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to collect, utilize and analyze data to drive profitable growth is essential.
  • Business acumen: A solid understanding of business principles, including finance, marketing, and operations is essential for maximizing results with assigned distribution partners (agency plant).
  • Interpersonal skills: Highly effective written and oral communication skills including, presentation, negotiation and effective influencing to cultivate productive relationships and to motivate partnerships to achieve goals is essential.
  • Leadership: Effective leadership skills are necessary to inspire, motivate and to manage agency performance to deliver results.
  • Tech savvy: Comfortable learning, leveraging and promoting the use of technology relevant to independent agents.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree strongly desired.
  • At least one professional designation recognized within the insurance industry (i.e., CPCU, CIC, AU, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in the P&C insurance industry with exposure to claims, marketing, sales, and/or underwriting within a carrier or agency.
  • Knowledge of P&C, Commercial Lines (small commercial) and Personal Lines products, pricing, underwriting philosophies and technology along with sound knowledge of competitive landscape, industry and marketing practices, standards, and regulatory environment as well as industry associations required.
  • Proficient in relevant enterprise tools and software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoin
