Description
The Account Manager uncovers new business and develops new customer relationships while building trust and fostering existing customer relationships.

_ Responsibilities:

- Prospect, develop, and grow customer base.
- Close deals, negotiate rates, and book loads.
- Develop and foster strong customer relationships and customer growth.
- Work with all departments to ensure superior customer service of assigned shipments and /or accounts.
- Effectively communicate with customers.
- Handle high volume, outbound calls.
- Analyze data, solve problems, and actively seek opportunities to improve customers supply chains.
- Deliver costeffective solutions which always keep the long term interest of the customer as the first priority.
- Ensure performance to the office annual goals and objectives through individual goal success.
- Occasional travel.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Experience with McLeod software and a consistent record of accurately rating and pricing truckload shipments are a plus.
Existing and portable book of customers.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Must possess basic PC skills:
Microsoft Excel, Word.
Self-starter capable of working independently and making decisions with limited supervision.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to solve practical problems.
Communication with customers, carriers, and drivers after-hours may be required.
Positive attitude with high energy.
