Repair Technician I to support our branch in
Hayward, CA.

Responsibilities of the Repair Technician:


  • Uses and repairs small hand tools including, drywall screwdrivers (battery and electric), large angle drills, large rotary & demolition hammers, impact drivers & shear wrench, wood working tools, metal working, small hydraulic hand pumps & rams, hydraulic quick draw punch drivers, ratchet cable cutters, grooving and threading equipment and roll groovers.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots and identifies parts needed for repair.
  • Prepares and provides list of parts needed for replacement to the Service Writer.
  • Determines and advises whether the tool is covered under warranty based on the manufacturer's warranty guidelines.
  • Assembles tool, based on Service Supervisor's scheduling, and maintains a mínimal error rate of 98% of error free repairs.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and strong problemsolving skills.
  • Keeps shop neat and orderly.
  • Abides by all safety rules and policies.
  • Stays current on maintenance and repair guidelines per manufacturers and company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications of the Repair Technician:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, as determined by the company.
  • 12 years handson experience repairing power tools, and/or combination of power tool repair training from a vocational school or manufacturer training. Previous welding or plumbing experience is a plus
  • Should have mechanical skills and understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer relations, and listening skills are required.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, including an ability to plan and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Some of the Physical Requirements of the Repair Technician:

  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolong periods of time
