Position Summary


Reporting to the Senior Director, Thought Leadership and Content Strategy, the Associate Director, Thought Leadership serves as a key member of BMS's Thought Leadership team, supporting the execution of BMS's global thought leadership strategy and the development of associated content that supports the BMS story, promotes business growth, resonates with priority stakeholders, and reflects the unique interests and expertise of each leader.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and evolution of the BMS thought leadership strategy to align with company priorities, goals, and milestones
  • Continually seek out opportunities and develop communications plans for leadership team members to tell the BMS story via external and internal events speaking engagements, social media, media opportunities, etc.
  • Maintain a pulse on the top issues impacting BMS and the pharmaceutical industry as a whole to inform potential areas for thought leadership
  • Provide counsel and coaching to leadership team in support of opportunities identified as part of the thought leadership strategy
  • Ensure alignment of the leadership team's messaging and engagement opportunities

Key Qualifications

  • Accomplished communications professional with a minimum of 8+ years of communications experience, preferably in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry
  • Project management skills with proven success managing major projects and deadlines
  • Excellent writing and research skills, with knowledge of AP style and a keen attention to detail
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Exceptional problemsolving, analytical and decisionmaking skills
  • Excels in fastpaced, challenging environment
  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or other relevant field

The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.

For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture.

For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
