- Ability to operate a variety of Locomotive engines including, diesel‐electric, turbo‐electric and diesel multiple units safely and efficiently in accordance with SCRRA, GCOR and FRA guidelines.
- Certified Locomotive Engineer.
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Locomotive Engineer Certification.
- Completed an approved GCOR Training Program in the last 3 years
- 2 years of experience as a supervisor for an FRA regulated railroad.
- 7 years' experience as a railroad engineer for an FRA regulated railroad.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Work prolonged periods on your feet in the shop environment or outdoors.
- Occasional periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must have valid California Driver's License with good driving record of no more than 2‐points and no DUI's within the last 3‐years. Pass background check.
- Must be able to pass a pre‐employment physical examination including a drug test.
- Able to work 24/7.

The Designated Supervisor for Locomotive Engineers (DSLE) manages engine and train service crews to ensure the safe and efficient operation of locomotive and trains in specific areas.
Ensures Adherence and compliance with train orders, bulletins, wayside signals, railroad operating rules, special instructions, SCRRA and FRA guidelines in movement of trains and equipment.
Responsible for the development, training, and implementation of the Title 49, CFR, Part 240/242 Plans.This position will report to the Assistant General Manager of Rail Operations (AGMRO) and will be required to coordinate and work with the Safety, Training, and Compliance Managers to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
