Job Summary:

The Medical Secretary will be
responsible for the day-to-day clerical operations of a high-volume Lung Transplantation Program.


Responsibilities:


  • Reports to the Divisional Administrator and Practice Manager in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine.
  • Maintain accurate, clear, detailed notes related to patient communication.
  • Schedule clinical testing for patients and clearly communicate all pertinent information related to the testing to the patient.
  • Schedule office appointments for new and established patients.
  • Obtain thirdparty insurance carrier precertification and/or preauthorization for all patient testing.
  • Answer telephone calls, take and replay messages to appropriate staff and/or route calls.
  • Respond to basic inquiries regarding the program.
  • Maintain accurate recording of all patient contact in the EMR (EPIC).
  • Prepares a variety of routine correspondence.
  • May attend meetings and record minutes.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties required.

Job Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of EPIC EMR
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • 2 years of related experience

Hourly Rate Ranges:
$ $34.62

Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
