    Insight Global is looking for a CAD Technician for a large engineering and telecommunications client in Pittsburgh, PA. This is an entry level position to support a project serving the Western PA area. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a CAD system or exporsue to any design system and interest in the telecommunications industry. This company only promotes from within, so this contract-to-hire opportunity is great for those looking for career growth

    Responsibilities:

    • Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD software based on project requirements.
    • Translate rough sketches, specifications, and ideas into precise technical drawings.
    • Collaborate with engineers and designers to support the design process.
    • Ensure that drawings comply with project guidelines.

    DAY TO DAY:

    • Diagrams, schematics, layouts, multi-view, and various drawings to scale in accordance with clients' requests.
    • Mathematical, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.
    • Scale engineering drawings using computer aided drafting system
    • Detailed design drawings
      • This would include structure, schematic, foundation, grounding, steel, layout, equipment, apparatus, wiring, panel, AC&DC, one lines, and other type drawings necessary to produce substation, relay, and line design job packages
    • File drawings, maintain catalogs of engineering data, and perform other routine drawing room functions as required
