The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes a pivotal role in patient care by engaging in the nursing process of assessment, planning, execution, and appraisal.
Working under RN supervision, LPNs offer guidance in patient education and activities aligned with their education and proven competencies.
Working under RN oversight, evaluate patients' physical, mental, and social aspects in healthcare and housing units, contributing to personalized treatment planning and collaborating with RNs and staff as necessary.
Execute treatment regimens under the direction of Healthcare Professionals, administer medications (including IV therapy if certified), and conduct diagnostic tests following established protocols and procedures.
Participate in controlled substance inventory checks at the start of shifts, following safety protocols and standard precautions while responding to codes or emergencies within established guidelines.
Assist in medical procedures, apply nutrition and therapeutic diets, and log nursing interactions through SOAP charting, maintaining effective communication with nursing colleagues, physicians, and other relevant parties.
Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions, demonstrating a dedication to continual professional growth and adherence to care standards and protocols to provide superior patient care.
Educational Background: Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
Work Experience: Preferably at least one (1) year of clinic experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Hold and sustain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of employment. Must be able to acquire and uphold CPR certification.
