***: As a Credit Manager at CFG Bank, you will play a pivotal role in our lending operations by conducting thorough credit analyses for a diverse portfolio including Commercial Real Estate (CRE) lending, Commercial and Industrial (C&I) lending, and select construction lending. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, ensuring sound risk management practices, and contributing to the bank's growth and profitability objectives. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make informed credit decisions within established policies and regulatory guidelines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provides guidance to Credit Analyst in establishing daily/weekly goals, set long term goals for the Credit Team members, as appropriate.
  • Evaluate team skillset and align responsibilities accordingly. Ensure team members are highperformance players whose values are consistent with CFG's.
  • Foster ongoing training and education through regular coaching and mentoring.
  • Assigns credit requests to Credit Analysts and manages work flow.
  • Reviews financial spreads with Credit Analysts with an emphasis on identifying risks
  • Reviews Loan Presentations with Analysts to ensure all aspects of deal are properly presented and presentation is ready for submission to appropriate approval authority.
  • Determines the credit risk profile of clients.
  • Makes recommendation to Committees regarding extensions of credit.
  • Reviews the work of Portfolio Management to ensure financial covenants, reporting requirements and loan documentation requirements are met.
  • Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including, but not limited to, financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureaus, appraisals, internal credit information, industry research and peer data.
  • Works with Chief Lending Officer on deal flow and monitoring of portfolio credit quality standards Spread financial statements or tax returns and prepare financial models designed to sensitize various conditions impacting the proposed transaction.
  • Analyze financial information and related materials and complete the credit analyses for the Bank's commercial transactions. Analysis to include risk rating of credit and compilation of accurate rationales. Written analyses to include wellsupported identification of and description of risks and mitigants of respective deals.
  • Present analysis or address questions during credit request discussions or committee presentations, as requested.
  • Participate in the structuring of loan requests, where appropriate, to include suggestions on terms, conditions, controls, collateral and guarantors.
  • Monitor credit policy compliance by verifying adherence to the Commercial Credit Policy and documenting policy exceptions.
  • Maintain knowledge of accounting pronouncements and other financial analysisrelated topics.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the CFG Bank brand and core values.
  • Maintain CFG internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned and participate in various Loan Analysis Departmental projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. MBA a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years' prior experience in credit underwriting, specialty underwriting or other financial analysis role.
  • Displays understanding of financial regulatory environment as it applies to underwriting most forms of commercial credit transactions.
  • Indepth knowledge of personal computers and related software programs, including Microsoft Office suite, with excellent Excel and Word skills required. Financial modeling experience preferred.
  • Exhibits relevant topical knowledge when engaging with peers, relationship managers, and senior management within the organization.
