The Advanced Development Technician will support the development and testing of the core mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems for our next generation EV platforms.


The minimum requirements we seek:


  • 2year degree in Automotive Tech & Repair or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting electric vehicle architecture & integration development.
  • Class C driver's license or ability to attain one.
  • Experience with machining and fabrication.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with lab equipment installation maintenance and calibration.

Preferred Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Handson experience building and launching automotive products and electrical, thermal and
mechanical system prototyping and testing.

  • Strong background in instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing HVAC components and systems.
  • Safe management of automotive fluids such as glycol, AC refrigerant, and oilbased liquids and
gases.

  • Can interpret and create wiring diagrams for test fixture construction.
  • Experience with controls methods for automotive systems
  • Experience with instrumentation, calibration, and measurement of thermal mechanical systems
in a lab environment.

  • Experience navigating geometry in 3DX/Catia V6 and interpreting 2D engineering drawings.

What you'll be able to do:

  • Collaborate with engineers to build, modify, instrument, and test mechanical, electrical, thermal components, and systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of early characterization and validation component failures.
  • Perform machining and fabrication work in support of prototype and test efforts.
  • Design and build test fixtures and assembly tools.
  • Assemble and debug test equipment hardware and control systems.
  • Execute experiments to support systems, safety, hardware, and software development, collect test data, manage data storage, retention, backup, and access.
  • Maintenance and coordination of repairs for lab equipment and tooling.
  • Complete integration of new parts or systems into test stands and provide feedback on manufacturability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and inspect components using precision measuring equipment
to determine that parts meet required specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with embedded systems over various vehicle communication protocols.
