POSITION OVERVIEW:

A Machine Operator maintains, repairs, operates and oversees various types of machinery and equipment in the Production Department. The main duties include performing routine maintenance checks, following strict safety regulations/guidelines and operating mechanical and/or computer-related equipment.


WORK HOURS:

This is a 5-day work week position. May be required to work an extra day based upon business needs.


1st shift: Monday - Saturday: 6:30am - 4:00pm (until complete) off Sunday & one (1) other day during the week based upon business needs.


2nd shift: Sunday - Friday: 4:00pm - 12:00am (until complete) off Saturday & one (1) other day during the week based upon business needs.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and maintain production equipment and machinery to ensure efficiency of speed/output and grading/specifications of produce.
  • Oversee the set-up and change-over of production equipment and machinery as orders change throughout the shift.
  • Oversee and train new machine operators.
  • Perform routine inspections of production equipment and report any issues to the Production and Maintenance Manager.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of each machine regularly and identify repairs as needed.
  • Assist the maintenance team with preventive maintenance and document work completed.
  • Understand and abide by all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and production procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • GED or High School diploma or any equivalent; technical degree is preferred by not required.
  • Previous machine operation and repair experience is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to quality and detail.
  • Ability to lead and train others in the operation of equipment

Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
