    BRISTOL COUNTY AGRICULTURAL HIGH SCHOOL

    JOB DESCRIPTION
    FOOD SERVICE | COOK


    This position will be a 190 day position, which includes all the days that school is in session, and five days before the start of school and five days after school ends.

    Hours may vary but are normally 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    This will be a full-time union position. The classification of this position Job Group 1 Step 2


    The regular work day/year for the Cook is as follows:190 days total which includes all of the days that school is in session.

    Five (5) days before the start of school.
    Five (5) days after school ends, but no later than June 30th.

    The day is from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with two twenty (20) minute breaks and one half-hour lunch period.

    The Cook is entitled to 12 1⁄2 sick days per year.
    Cook shall not be responsible for snow removal.
    The Cook shall not receive Holiday pay.
    This position will be paid over a 52 week period.

    Duties Include (but not limited to):
    Preparing all food associated with the school lunch program.
    Set up and clean up the lunch room and other areas used in the school lunch preparation.

    This includes, but not limited to, sanitizing all school lunch areas and mopping/sweeping of floors, and anything else needed to maintain proper cleaning standards required by the Board of Health Department.

    Food Service Cook assists with putting away food deliveries to respective areas
    Assist in maintaining all Storage areas, (stock room, freezer & coolers), in a Neat & Orderly Manner.
    Trash removal
    Ability to work with students and staff in a professional and courteous manner
    Responsible for cashing out students using a POS system register. The Food Service/Cook will process student transactions accordingly and balance a cash draw at the end of each day.
    Food Service Cook is required to follow all ServSafe protocols when handling all food.
    Food Service Cook will be required to become, if not already, ServeSafe & Allergen Certified
    Food Service Cook is responsible to follow all food service rules and regulations required by the
    Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and USDA Food and Nutrition
    Service.
    Provide training of new employees when needed
    Any other duties assigned by the Business Manager or designee pertaining to the school's food service program.
