Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience.

  • Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or an associate's degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor's degree; J.D. or master's degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.
D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.


Duties Description


Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Administration, SG-NS of the Division of Human Rights, the Director of Facilities will provide service to DHR's eight (8) regional offices and three (3) satellite offices through establishing policies and procedures for raising issues pursuant to facility matters and in analyzing the current status of DHR facilities to determine suitability for operational needs.

The Director of Facilities & Fleet Administration will provide ongoing support to DHR's home office in the Bronx and to all other DHR facilities throughout the state.


Specific duties are as follows:

  • Oversight of the Division's leased facilities and OGS owned facilities;
  • Responsible for issues at the DHR home office and regional locations including daytoday tenant issues, longterm planning, building maintenance issues, and liaison with OGS;
  • Responsible for oversight of space allocation and tracking at Home Office and all Regional Offices;
  • Responsible for the Mail Room (collection and distribution of the Main Office mail and packages; biweekly distribution of employee's payroll);
  • Responsible for the oversight of shipping and receiving Division commodities statewide;
  • Responsible for the oversight of the Records Management Program;
  • Coordinate and process the transfer, surplus, and disposal of all State property;
  • Participate in special projects, as assigned;
  • Responsible for overseeing the Division's statewide Fleet Administration program
