    The Coordinator must possess a level of knowledge that allows them to process student financial aid according to Title IV, state and institutional compliance for financial aid programs and policies.


    Responsibilities:
    Ensures all federal and state programs are administered in strict compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
    Ensure possession of federal, state, and institutional knowledge to process aid.

    Complete the NASFAA professional credentials for application process, direct loans, federal Pell grants and Iraq and Afghanistan service grants within 12 months.

    Responsible for the administration of federal and state financial aid programs (Pell Grant, Direct Loans, Federal Work-Study (FWS), FSEOG, Texas College Work-Study (TCWS), and Texas Educational Opportunity Grant (TEOG)).Adjusts over awards by determining the amount of aid to be canceled or repaid while ensuring accuracy in system data entry and processing and contacting students regarding possible alternatives.

    Ensures that all financial aid funds are refunded according to federal, state, and institutional policy.

    Recommends policies and procedures for financial aid that support the goals of the institution and ensure compliance with federal regulations.

    Creates and maintains financial aid office communication plan with faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community.

    Provides formal and informal presentations on the Financial Aid program to a variety of audiences, using the appropriate audio-visual aids and participant handouts.

    Develops and reviews financial aid applications and forms used to administer student aid programs.
    Attend conferences and training sessions to ensure a proficient understanding of any new regulations, policies or procedures.
    Stay up to date on any federal Title IV, state, or institutional changes and update materials accordingly.

    Required Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's degreeTwo (2) years of related experience

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Must be organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused.
    Must have superior communication and time-management skills and a professional demeanor.
    Must be able to prioritize work assignments to complete work within required time-periods.
