- One year of program-specific work experience or relevant education, which indicates the individual possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Master's degree from an accredited college/university in an applicable human services field and registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling for clinical supervision working toward licensure.
- One year of experience working with identified population served preferred. Eligible to register as an LMHPE with the VA Board of Counseling within three months of hire.

Position Summary
The Clinician will assess the needs of clients who have been referred and inducted into adult drug treatment courts. The Clinician will provide ASAM assessments, individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based models. This is a grant-based position that will end with the ending of the grant on 9/30/2025.

Knowledge of evidenced-based CBT-informed mental health services and referrals for veterans and their families; Communicate effectively verbally and written. Present a positive and friendly demeanor to veterans, their families, staff, and clinic support personnel, funders and the public. Develop/give oral presentations; Knowledge in DSM-IV/DSM-V diagnoses.
Knowledge of the appropriate and effective use of HIPPA; Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community; Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources; Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, drug courts and veterans affairs; Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments; Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed; willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license.
May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, and provide services to clients at other locations.
Regular attendance at training and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.About Horizon:
