The Operations Manager assists leadership in directing operations and supporting labs/units directly to impact their mission, operations, efficiency, and research readiness. They provide organizational and project leadership, manage resources, and lead problem-solving efforts as needed.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with: executive leadership, faculty, staff, and vendors

Job Duty 1 -
Lead and assist in managing/coordinating daily business operations and unit functions, including initiatives, program/portfolio plans, data analysis, and information reporting; plan, manage, execute, and evaluate programs, projects, and/or events
Job Duty 2 -
Advise leadership on operational issues, including tracking and providing guidance and considerations for awareness, strategic planning, and scheduling of enterprise-level events; providing executive briefings and making recommendations; evaluating existing policies and procedures; and assisting with the integration of techniques for evaluating and improving operational efficiency
Job Duty 3 -
Manage assigned projects/programs, including planning, coordinating, conducting, and managing all aspects of assigned programs throughout each project¿s life-cycle to ensure completion within scope, quality, and time/budget guidelines; provide administrative support, data analysis, modeling, tracking, and reporting as needed. These efforts can intersect with and/or include systems, technical, administrative, logistical, and operational functions. Manage personnel for efforts related to these projects.
Job Duty 4 -
Compile and respond to data requests to address/resolve potential and existing Institute and unit-level challenges, including identifying and communicating analyses, insights, and observations. Develop reports and/or training materials as appropriate and necessary.
Job Duty 5 -
Advise the oversight and management of units as appropriate and requested. Interact directly with support unit leaders and personnel on matters related to strategic initiatives, operations, problem solving, and projects; provide leadership, guidance, advice, and assistance to those units in such capacities.
Job Duty 6 -
Help direct the management and implementation of strategic initiatives and efforts; assist leadership, consultants, and team in overseeing and managing strategy, including developing and maintaining tools and processes for project management and enterprise-level tracking
Job Duty 7 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Seven or more years of job-related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification; Master¿s Degree or equivalent. Human Resources, Security, and Operational Management Training, or equivalent. Consulting or related operational / fiscal project management experience. Experience in complex operations and operational challenges.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesABILITIES
Must have demonstrated ability to think critically and employ sound judgment in resolving complex organizational challenges; effectively manage projects; facilitate group interactions; work effectively within a matrix organizational structure; and anticipate client expectations
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of data analytics and project management tools, as well as how to conduct financial and qualitative analyses
SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated skills in collaborating with team members and executives to determine and prioritize business strategies
