Job Summary:


The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality products and the delivery of defect-free items to our customers.

They plan, organize, direct, and actively participate in daily quality control activities in alignment with ISO9001 standards and the company's quality management system.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the implementation of effective, efficient, and welldocumented Quality Systems throughout the company, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001. This involves developing or updating Quality procedures and forms, as well as providing training.
  • Drive data collection, analysis, and reporting for established Quality reports, covering areas such as Discrepant Material, Cost of Quality, Supplier Report Cards, production line First Pass Yield, Quality System/Control Plan Audits, and customer quality report cards.
  • Develop and implement standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, drawing upon expertise from various engineering fields.
  • Supervise workers involved in measuring, testing, and recording data related to quality and reliability.
  • Formulate and maintain objectives for the quality management system.
  • Interpret the quality management philosophy to key personnel within the organization.
  • Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation to ensure compliance with specified requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Drive improvement through "Kaizen" events with a team and develop processes to meet quality, cost, and efficiency goals.
  • Collaborate with other engineering components, customers, and suppliers on qualityrelated matters.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate current processes and any proposed changes.
  • Act as the representative of the Quality System for the plant, providing reports and presentations on the performance and direction of the manufacturing Quality System to senior management.
  • Support DFMEA/PFMEA activities with Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Make decisions regarding product acceptance or continuation of business with suppliers based on procurement team reviews.
  • Review all data obtained during quality control activities to ensure alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop innovative approaches to address problems identified during quality control activities.
  • Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of internal quality deviations, focusing on corrective and preventative actions.
  • Establish monitoring processes (e.g., trending and tracking of errors, inspection findings, and internal audit results) to review and analyze data, recommending modifications or additions to the current QA program as needed.
  • Keep the management team informed of significant issues or developments identified during quality control activities and the actions taken to address them.
  • Lead and actively participate in quality management teams within the organization.
  • Design and implement quality assurance training programs for key personnel in collaboration with managers.
  • Perform all job functions safely, following established safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications | Competencies | Success Factors:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality Management role within a mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred management experience.
  • Comfortable working in a Manufacturing Environment.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities Required:

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient in inspection and manufacturing process knowledge.
  • ASQ certification.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP, GD&T, Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.

Pay:
$90, $120,000.00 per year
