Description
We are looking for a dedicated and responsible workers to assist in the Toddler classrooms during the summer. We are looking for workers to assist with our children from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

This position is avilable May - August with possbility of Fall 2024 employment as well.


We will provide all work trainings, background check, finger printing, and CPR/First Aid training that are required for the job.

We also provide a hot lunch each day

Must be a student of Andrews University.


Qualifications summary:


  • Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma.

  • Accuracy, common sense and efficiency is required
  • Must love children.

Duties and responsibilities:


  • Provide basic needs for children
  • Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
  • Use various leaning methods such as stories, games and drawing to intellectually stimulate children.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
  • Work with young children to teach basic skills such as colors, letter and number recognition, shapes, social skills and personal hygiene
  • Manage activities, imaginative play, bathroom breaks, meals and rest time
  • Introduce children to new ageappropriate hobbies
  • Clean and sanitize all toys and play areas
  • Monitor and gently correct children's behavior and adapt to the various needs of children and parents
  • Have patience and compassion suitable for working with young children
  • Have the spirit of flexibility and a Christlike attitude in all that they say and do

Supervisory responsibilities:
May supervise student workers, as determined by the Director


Qualifications:


  • Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma.
  • Commitment to work at least 1520 hours a week and up to 40 if willing.
  • Ability to be
    highly punctual and to successfully allocate and manage time.
  • Must love children.
  • Must have a warm and friendly personality with sensitivity to the feelings and needs of both children and adults.
  • Display a willingness to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the center's philosophy and mission.
  • Job requires much physical activity and a high energy level.
  • Accuracy and efficiency is required
  • Must be a student of Andrews University

  • Must be comfortable interacting with parents and teachers.
  • Must love children.

Physical demands:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting,

carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and

significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 25% walking, and 70% standing. The job is performed under

some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.


Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
