Description

The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, a research institute of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science, is the leading center for fusion research in Europe.

With approximately 1,100 employees located in Garching near Munich and Greifswald, the institute is dedicated to investigating the physical principles behind fusion power, which harnesses the energy generated by the fusion of light atomic nuclei, similar to the process in the sun.

Our research is focused on developing nuclear fusion as a sustainable and safe source of energy for the future, and is carried out through seven experimental and theoretical projects.

We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/div) in Experimental Physics to join our team in the Physics of the Plasma Edge (E2) division, specifically in the Pedestal Physics group.

This position offers the opportunity to conduct research at the ASDEX Upgrade fusion experiment.
