Description

Duties:


  • You will provide a full range of material handling tasks in accordance with established procedures and proven techniques.
  • You will deliver equipment items to laboratories and operating areas, exercising care and precautions in handling highly technical, sophisticated research and teaching items.
  • You will organize incoming material for space utilization and special handling.
  • You will prepare packages to ensure safe handling and prevention of damage during transportation, adhering to all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • You will utilize material handling equipment to load/unload delivery trucks and transport items to end users or storage locations.
  • You will obtain customer signatures via electronic key pad upon delivery.
  • You will print delivery tickets and perform database searches when conducting troubleshooting activities for undelivered packages.
  • You will drive government vehicles to and from satellite locations both on and off the government complex.
  • You will be responsible for locating and storing material in the proper place within the property cage, secure storage containers, refrigeration units, main warehouse, and satellite storage buildings.
  • You will ensure safe receipt and inspection, and handling of hazardous (including biohazardous) materials to include flammable, corrosive, chemical, dry ice, radioactive materials, and compressed and liquid gasses.
  • You will operate material handling conveyances including forklift, mechanized and manual pallet jacks, delivery carts and others.

  • You must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to seventyfive (75) pounds.
  • You will be required to wear safety shoes and other protective items as required.
