ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This position will own payroll and benefits processing for all Curio Wellness associates.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the endtoend payroll processing to ensure all associates are paid accurately and timely
  • Partner with Operations managers to ensure timely review and submittal of time sheets and payroll information.
  • Oversee process for garnishments, tax reporting and jurisdiction registration set up and ensures garnishments, liens and taxes are processed accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local payroll requirements.
  • Research and investigate payroll issues and other escalated payroll inquiries by collaborating with stakeholders and bringing timely resolution
  • Provide payroll reporting and performs reconciliations and audits for W4s, W2s, manual checks adjustments, workers compensation audits and 401k audits', etc.
  • Provide support to our Finance team regarding monthly/quarterly payroll accounting entries to ensure accurate reporting and posting to General Ledger
  • Facilitate regular audits in partnership with Finance and People and Culture
  • Partner with other organizational departments to optimize processes and controls
  • Create and maintain payroll SOP's with an eye towards scaling the payroll function as we grow
  • Set up, audit and verify accuracy of employee benefits deductions
  • Administer steps needed to comply with COBRA laws and deliver continuation of employee benefits
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (BS, BA) or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of U.S. payroll experience, including supporting a multistate employee population
  • Excellent understanding of multilocation payroll and taxes
  • Experience with electronic payroll systems
  • Significant experience in Excel, including advanced features (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
