Small 2-3 person engineering and light manufacturing company located in
Valparaiso, IN, is seeking an administrative assistant to join our team This position would be part time but could easily be full time depending on the person's back ground, experience, and skill set.

The hours worked would be flexible and be between 8AM and 5PM Monday to Friday. Hours could fluctuate due to project work load.

When initially coming onboard, there will may be a need to work some extra hours while getting up to speed.

These hours would be above and beyond the normal hours mentioned above.


Required qualifications:


  • Energetic, friendly, professional, organized, articulate, prompt, and able to efficiently multitask.
  • Should have computer experience in the following areas: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks.
  • Experience in an administrative role is desired, preferably in a business setting.
  • Be proactive and possess a positive attitude with an outgoing personality.
  • Possess a positive attitude of
    'whatever it takes' to be part of a small business, and to provide superior service to our customers and business associates.
  • Excellent phone skills & pleasant demeanor.
  • Be an initiative taker and a creative thinker.
  • Experience in dealing with Business to Business transactions would also be a big plus.
  • Flexible schedule.

Responsibilities include:


  • Create job documentation such as making binders, job reports, shipping and packing lists, training materials, etc.
  • Receptionist & Phone Related Activities.
  • Assist engineering and shop assembly personnel when necessary.
  • Willing to "get your hands dirty" around the office and in the warehouse.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service.
  • Perform A/P and A/R Duties.
  • Generate job time and expense sheets, and enter them into QuickBooks.
  • Perform some purchasing functions such as acquiring quotes, update quoted items in QB, and preparing purchase orders.
  • Perform shipping/receiving functions which include generating shipping labels and packing lists.
  • Run miscellaneous errands to support the business as necessary.

Hourly pay will be based on experience.
