Job Overview


The Assistant to Classroom Managers - _in a temporary role_ - ensures that all technology, instructional materials, and classroom services are available for teaching and academic programs in the Office of the Registrar's General Purpose Classrooms, assuring that faculty teaching and students' learning needs are met in a timely, continuous and proficient fashion.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares of classroom technology: Checking, testing and ensuring technology is working for classroom faculty & patrons
  • Troubleshoots issues that arise during a class
  • Trains patrons on the use of classroom technology


The Assistant to the Classroom Manager ensures each GPC in their assigned zone is conducive to teaching and learning within a designated region of the Main Campus, They provide equipment and supplies, and set-up the more complicated technology requests, frequently coordinates the media and software needed for instruction; and assist with the maintenance of inventories of equipment, peripherals and supplies in each GPC.


Further, they assist with the diagnosing, troubleshooting, and minor repairs of technology and peripherals in the classrooms; and provide desktop support for classroom computers and interactive computer classrooms, as well as best-efforts support of all user BYOD connected to installed technology systems.


As well, they identify each faculty member using a GPC, ascertain the needs of that instructor, trains her/him in the operation of installed base technology, and monitor class activity to ensure problem free instruction.


Additionally, they monitor classroom infrastructure, including supply of chalk, white board markers and erasers in the classrooms and assure the aesthetic condition of the spaces; ensure the designated chair count and ADA table are maintained within each GPC; and serve patrons in the CETS ICC 121 office, provide occasional support of GPCs in other areas of the Main Campus, and participate in CETS departmental meetings.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • A strong working knowledge of computer systems and presentation technology
